The Bionic Teaching Blog

This is a really fun and interesting blog to visit on a regular basis. Take a look and let me know what you think.

The post on Sept. 16, Magic Bullets don’t Exist is a good one. Keep going too. I also liked the post on September 13th and September 10th.

How much is even possible?

You know, while many of these tools are excellent, I wonder how many and how often they really need to be used. Are we using blogs and wikis and other fun and dare I say useful tools to entice the students, to change it up a bit, and/or because we think we should? Are classroom discussions significantly different than a discussion a class might have on a blog about a book or a current event? What do you think?

An interesting slide show

Take a look at this slide show:

Weblogs: Why should I care?

As if we didn’t know! You can read it for yourself.

Why bother?

Well, I’m not here to tell you whether or not blogging is for you and/or your students. I am here to show you what a blog can do, what others think about the use of blogs for their teaching, point you to examples of classroom blogs, and generally give you an very general, (dare I say superficial?) overview. So, let’s begin!

Take a look at the categorized links to the left. Please click on any that interest you. Upon reading and reflection, do any of the sites you visited make sense?…touch a nerve?…give you any ideas?…or just sound like a bunch of hooey?
